The designer’s creations became a true means of artistic expression for her and she soon began exhibiting some master pieces in galleries throughout Spain.

In the 1980s, Agatha became one of the most important promoters of the “movement” (the Madrid nightclub and music scene at the time) and, since then, she has continued to be extremely active on this country’s cultural and artistic scene.

Although Agatha had attained certain recognition from the outset of her career, her true triumph came when she joined forces with the most important department store chain in Spain, El Corte Inglés.

Since then, Agatha has crossed frontiers and acquired international recognition through her fashion shows and exhibitions. She started showing her women’s collections in Paris Fashion Week and today they are exhibited in the Madrid and Milan Fashion Weeks along with her children’s collection at the Pitti in Florence.

She also shows her work as a guest artist on runways across the globe, such as in France, Colombia, Poland, Greece, Santo Domingo, the United States, Mexico, Moscow, Rumania, Panama, etc. Her exhibitions are never far behind either and reach destinations as far afield as Tokyo, Beijing, Milan, Barcelona, Liege, New York and Medellín.

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada began licensing her trademark in 1991 and, with women’s fashion as her starting-point, has extended her creativity to the world of children, accessories, furniture, décor, home linen, perfumes, cell phones, school matter, etc. In 2008, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada launched a new gold and diamond jewellery collection, a carpet line and shower screen and security door collections.

She has also presented her new motorbike helmet, gym wear and photo machine lines. This broad product range is distributed via the designer’s exclusive stores in Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Milan, New York and Porto as well as in department stores in over 140 countries.

Today, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada distributes her products across the globe through 43 license holders.
Throughout her professional career, Agatha has collaborated in special projects with trademarks such as Swatch, Absolut Vodka, Camper, Balay, Audi, Citroën, DHL, Kartell and NH Hoteles. She has also received awards such as the Italian Fashion Oscar, the New Yorker award, the Colombia Passion prize and practically all the Spanish fashion awards: the T for Telva, the Prix de Marie Claire, the Top Glamour, etc.

In the first quarter of 2009, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada will be launching her women’s 2010 autumn-winter collection in Cibeles, Milan, Miami and Puerto Rico and her children’s collection in Florence and Lausanne, where the performers in the Cat in Boots opera will be wearing her costumes.

She will also inaugurate a retrospective exhibition at the La Piscine de Roubaix museum in France and another exhibition of children’s fabrics at the Premiá Print Museum in Barcelona.

NEW YORK,  / FW/ — Born in France to a Russian father and Danish-Brazilian mother, Laura Poretzky is a citizen of the world having been raised in Paris, Rio de Janeiro and New York. Her very cosmopolitan upbringing is part of her strength as a designer.

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, she honed her skills at Ralph Lauren. Feeling the need to expand her creativity, Laura left Ralph Lauren and established ‘James’, a line of very sexy and very wearable swimwear.

Emboldened by the success of James, Laura launched Abaete in 2004, her first collection – Japanese-inspired Resort 2005. The collection was immediately picked up by Kirna Zabete and Linda Dresner.

Later during that year, Abaete debuted on the New York runway at the Altman Building during the Spring 2005 season. A year later, during the Spring 2006 season, Abaete won one of the sponsorships for the UPS Hub at Bryant Park.

Abaete became a household word when Laura Poretzky was approached by Payless to create its first-ever designer shoe collection. The shoes were presented as accessories of the Abaete Fall 2006 collection unveiled at Bryant Park.

While her shoe collection continues to enjoy success at Payless, the Abaete ready-to-wear line has also become a new by-word is luxury clothing. It is sold at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Cusp, Saks Fifth Avenue, Intermix and Henri Bendel.

PARIS, Mar 20, 2009 / FW/ —- Passionate about art since his childhood, Quentin Veron moved to Paris in 2005, where, after a short time spent in the Thierry Mugler studios, he attended the prestigious Parisian fashion school Studio Bercot directed by Marie Rucky.

His passion for expertise on an international scope led him to Los Angeles in the summer of 2006, where he assisted designer Jeremy Scott. With the diploma of Studio Bercot in his hands, following this stint, Veron began working as a stylist for several fashion magazines always incorporating fur into his work. It was during those sessions that his curiosity and passion for fur kept growing and became a reality.

At the end of 2007, Veron elected to dedicate his days to hours and hours in a fur workshop to learn how to work this luxurious material. In 2008, the passion grew and he began his brand specializing in fur.

During an exhibition in collaboration with photographer Jenny Lexander in May 2008, 20-year-old Veron presented his first fur pieces. He comments that part of his inspiration comesfrom the fact that these were the clothes of the first human beings.

“Fur is THE base of clothing and we should never forget that fur always existed and human beings always wore it,” he said. “As well, this irreplaceable material is natural.”

The pieces were very well received and several pieces were shot in the French fashion magazine L’Officiel in November 2008.

Veron gives a real modernity to fur; from his very close relationship with fur technicians he mixes his unique style and the technique to create pieces that transport us to his own universe. It’s with a chic style and almost inherent knowledge that Quentin tells his collection like if it was a dark and poetic tale.

Veron debuted on the Paris runways in March 2009 during Fall 2009 ready-to-wear season, presenting his first complete fur collection.

Quentin Veron designs and fabricates the pieces himself surrounded with talented workers inthe workshops of Patrick Lestarquit in Paris. Each and every piece his collection is made in this Parisian workshop. Veron was born on November 25th 1987 in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
